The Edioms project is based on CULTURAL HERITAGE and MULTILINGUALISM
The Edioms project is based on CULTURAL HERITAGE and MULTILINGUALISM which are the two cornerstones of the European project and powerful symbols of the EU's aspiration to be united in diversity. With the priority given to Cultural Heritage, Linguistic Diversity and Digital İntegration, we aim to raise awareness of the importance of Europe's cultural heritage and enhance multilingualism among our members via helping them in creation of an app including Cultural Sayings and Idioms of the partner countries, and offering them an international opportunity to test and implement the app in real cases within relevant cultures. We (Spain, France, Turkey, Netherlands, UK, Germany) came up with the idea of this project after having the results of the Needs Analysis carried out in the partner organisations.
To raise awareness of the importance of Europe's cultural-linguistic heritage and multilingualism among the our members; they will learn cultural idioms-sayings in the most spoken languages of EU by attending authentic LTT activities abroad and taking responsibility in the creation of visualised script-sound modules for the edioms App, test and implemet it. To enhance the access, participation and learning performance of disadvantaged learners and to increase dimension of social inclusion in the EU.
To promote the common values of the EU as equity, diversity, inclusion, freedom, tolerance via tackling discrimination, segregation and racism. To provide transnational experience of education to understand and increase appreciation of their own as well as other languages and cultures in line with the provisions of the Lisbon Treaty. To offer quality education enabling success for all students let to gain a better understanding on how they learn.
To create synergy among young people via peer learning tutorials. To support our teachers in raising awareness of the importance of sayings and idioms of the languages in terms of a linguistic heritage to be protected. To strengthen the European dimension in our schools, to build up our capacity for cross-border cooperation and the ability to cope with socio-cognitive challenges.
E-dioms:A mobile e-learning tool covering the cultural sayings/idioms of the following EU languages; Spanish, English, French, Turkish, Dutch, German. It'll be publicated on the mobile stores for free use of anyone. Website. Twinspace/SEG. 2 Calendars. Logo. Theatre Play. Erasmus Days Events. Booklets. Posters. Brochures. Tutorials. Social media groups.
PPTs. Organizing authentic LTT activities in transnational meetings to learn the cultural idioms and sayings of the participating languages in real world situations/tutorials, to test/ implement the E-dioms App. Running the website/e-Twinning desktop and social media accounts to promote, evaluate, disseminate the project results on all levels.
As many people as possible from the communities of the participating schools will be involved in the project activities, and a great number of Erasmus+ beneficiars/language learners will benefit of the results of the project directly or indirectly. The main methodology to be followed in all the LTT project mobilities bases on Authentic Learning/ICT which is realistic/feasible in terms of learning languages in real world to better interiorize the expressions and use of ICT through the App
All the products above will be created. Our students will raise awareness of the importance of Europe's cultural-linguistic heritage, multilingualism and
digitalisation; and improve their multiligual communication skills, be entrepreneur in software programming, gain a better
understanding of their own as well as other languages/cultures, improve their language competences by teaching their
cultural sayings and idioms to other students and gain a better understanding on how they learn and become more active,
creative, confident and independent individuals. Our teachers will learn innovative ICT teaching methods, exchange ideas and teaching practices. They will be supported
in protecting cultural linguistic heritage and enhancing multilingualism. Our schools will increase their EU dimension and quality of education
The E-dioms Application, website and twinspace will live on long after the project is completed through being updated
and enriched. We will promote our products to anyone who intends to learn/teach the sayings and idioms of the relevant
languages. We will also make use of the other project results in our schools' curricula and learning goals for a long time.
Our students will benefit from this project from a lifelong learning perspective. They will develop communicative skills and
will be able take charge of their own learning, both today and in the future. We will apply for more subsequent
complementary steps of the E-dioms project cycle as E-dioms 2, E-dioms 3, E-dioms 4 etc. in other to add the idiomssayings of all the EU languages.
